Opportunities for primary and secondary teachers

German

German Taster Day (KS2-3)

Students in KS2-3 with little or no prior knowledge of the German language can enjoy the day at the Goethe-Institut, London taking part in a range of fantastic activities including a German taster session. Taking place on 8th May 2025, find out more and register your group.

German Club: "Wuschel auf der Erde"

Set up a German Club in your German class with new resources and let your pupils discover the German language through the enchanting new main characters Wuschel and Miki, illustrated by Axel Scheffler, as well as other club formats. Comprehensive teaching materials are available for teachers, both German teachers, non-specialists and students interested in leading a club.

Support from the Goethe-Institut

The Goethe-Institut provides a wide array of resources and programmes, including their Gimagine materials, to assist teachers, learners and schools in teaching German. All of these resources and programmes are accessible on their website here.

French

French Teacher Day "Inspiring the Future of French Teaching Conference" Saturday 4th October 2025.

This conference will be hosted in Cambridge by Alliance Française East-Anglia, alongside partners University of Cambridge-Modern and Medieval Languages, CLE International, ALL, Institut Français de Londres, and Campus France. Featured speakers include Bernadette Holmes MBE, sharing strategies for inspiring the next generation of linguists.

Spanish

Registration for the biggest annual CPD event for teachers of Spanish in London is now officially open. Visit Instituto Español Vicente Cañada Blanch on Saturday 14th June: 20 workshops to choose from, lovely Spanish food and a great opportunity to network with other teachers of Spanish!
